No third party mods required. Lighting changes only. Crysis 2 dazzles with BlackFire lighting mod. BlackFire's mod is a Crysis 2 lighting overhaul, designed to remove the smoky atmosphere of the vanilla game for a clearer and brighter experience.

Wow that texture mod is fantastic!! Gives me a reason to actually finish Crysis 2. I do wish grass textures for games would be like like actual blades of grass though. Seems like all grass textures look like crap, but hopefully someday that will be possible.KABCOOLIt would take extra power to render each individual blade of grass though which would kill your systemBut check out this guys work, I used to follow his tutorials on CE3 stuff and he did his own grass it's pretty sickis actual grass and not some flat texture. And besides, the CryEngine SDK already produces extremely dense grass. You don't need to render blades of grass to have it realistic looking. QUOTE='BPoole96'I played through it with Maldo HD Texture Mod, Blackfire Mod, and Quality Mod.

I never took any screenshots though to show you what it looks likeseanmcloughlinI absolutely hate blackfire's mod. It makes everything bloomy and blurry. The blurriness can be disabled by pressing either O or P. There are 3 different levels of DOF.

I played with minimum on but you can disable it entirely. I may not have noticed excessive bloom from the mod itself because I installed the mod before ever playing the vanilla game. There was a lot of bloom though. QUOTE='seanmcloughlin'QUOTE='BPoole96'I played through it with Maldo HD Texture Mod, Blackfire Mod, and Quality Mod. The colours or something seemed off and everything was very hazy and hard to look at, the bloom was a bit much. I'm more a fan of just simple colour correction mods and textures anyway because vanilla C2 looks great it just needs a bit of tweaking. Sorry to revive this but is there a way to get maldo HD textures to work with the realness 2.0? This whole time iv been using the blackfire mod because the majority of people seem to think its the best mod so i just went with that well today i decided to try the the realness mod, and wow, it looks so much better.

Mod

Wish i would have tried it earlier lol but i cant get the maldo mod to work with the realness, anyone know how? Or if not are there other texture mods i could use with the realness instead?

I was installing those graphics mods and when I went to change settings, it refused to let me enable DirectX11. I thought maybe there was just some glitch and went with a fresh install, but DirectX11 worked fine. Yet whenever I install those mods, it forces DirectX 11 off and won't allow me to enable it. It greys it out in the menu. Does anyone know what the issue could be?Here are my specs if they matter:Windows 10 64-BitIntel Core i7-4790K 4.00 GHz (Overclocked to 4.40)16 GB RamnVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB VRam. That is a bit familiar. I beleive there is a notation on the advanced config page on the Malado configuration utility about that the ingame dx 11 will be off but it is really in dx 11 through maldos' config file.

Installing game now, then the mods (I obsvioulsy play the same ones for the same reasons). Will check back. I might be confussed with the quality mod for crysis with the maldo for crysis 2, I remember one of them having this issue.

Either Maldo's, Blackfire's, or QM Qaulity mod. Blackfire is a combo of all three mods into one. It ha s been a while.Update:Sorry but I was thinking of the quality mod for crysis 1. The DX 9 vs 10 settings.

I actually think I know the problem. I was tweaking the MaldoHD configuration using the provided.exe, and I decided to test various Anti-Aliasing settings. I was setting mine to FXAA Ultra In-Game + SweetFX, apparently forgetting that older SweetFX settings don't typically like DirectX11. Not sure if updating the mods version SweetFX will make a difference, but when I use any other Anti-Aliasing setting the DirectX 11 toggle lights back up.Now to figure out how to use a DSR/Downsampled resoulution in DX11 without that damn 24p glitch in full screen (Not sure if you have this, its an issue in CrySis 1 too for some people.

Key word being 'Some People.' Usually nVidia issue it seems.). In 1920x1080 I can just use a Borderless Window patch but if I use a higher resolution it'll stretch out past. /quoteI actually think I know the problem. That is a scaling issue. Check your Control pannel for scaling, underscan/overscan. Or you can create a custom resolution (down a couple pixels), in your video cards control panel. Then apply it.

Run game, set resolution to the custtom one. Exit game and reset your resolution back to normal. I had to do this for Crysis 2. Crysis 1 and warhead I was able to just alt+enter a couple times and it would snap full screen.Currently running a ATI R9 380, and the new catylist drivers fixed it for me. So no more Alt tabbing and custon reso fixes.
